We will help with every step to get your space acoustically sound. Our objective is to make sure your atmosphere is a desirable place to be in. -----OUR GOALS-----
Good ambiance balances aesthetic with customer comfort. From restaurants and offices to concert halls, most large spaces will have some form of sound issue if not acoustically treated. The main issue affecting most such spaces is reverb, the echo of noise caused by sound bouncing off of hard surfaces. Large windows, stone tile, and tall ceilings are just some of the culprits of reverb, and too much reverberation in your space can cause noise levels to rise to an uncomfortable level, making conversation difficult. We have many options to help reduce the refection of sound in your space. We work closely with our clients to match the aesthetic of their rooms to achieve the best possible look and sound absorption for your space. WORKING TOGETHER First we need to identify your issue. Is your establishment "boomy" when full of chatting customers? Are you hearing the shouts of the martial arts class next door during dinner? These are two different issues. The first situation would be an acoustic treatment issue, and the second with require sound proofing. Fortunately we have solutions for both. SPD can interpret all the sound problems in your space. We know that no two businesses are the same, and each project is uniquely customized. We offer an assortment of products such as: Acoustical Fabric Wall Systems (can be formed to any shape) Circles, Triangles, Hexagons Acoustic Art Panels. Ceiling Clouds Reclaimed Wooden Frames Acoustical Fabrics Custom artist prints Wood and Acoustic foam diffusers The type of material we use will effectively absorb and diffuse the energy that causes echo (reverberation) and will produce a better listening atmosphere for your space. You can expect dB (decibel) reduction in the space and significant drop in reverb with any of these applications. THE FOOD IS GREAT BUT IT'S TOO LOUD! According to what Zagat Survey (reviewed over 15,000 restaurants) says, restaurant-goers' second-most-frequent complaint is noise. Loud restaurants are a deal breaker for guests, and with metal and concrete industrial aesthetics trending, sound has never been more of an issue. The trick is to find ways to accommodate conversation while staying true to your concept’s style and vibe. The right amount of treatment will reduce echo and reverberation, improve the speech intelligibility, and procure a more satisfying experience for your guests and staff. WE THINK WE KNOW Stephen Zagor, dean of business and management studies at the Institute of Culinary Education in Manhattan says, lighting—how it hits the walls, the tables, the floor—is the most important design element, Acoustics are the second Zagor states. Raimundo Gaby, associate professor of business management at the Culinary Institute of America, who says, “It’s the first thing that the industry does poorly.” We have all been to that loud room and wonder why nothing has been done about it. Well, first off I would say its the aesthetics. Most business owners don't want to take away from their beautiful decor. With todays innovative materials and sleek framing, there is no doubt in my mind you can make acoustic look good. Either with our new line of Mood Fixtures or other products. |
